The definition of assistive technology

A dictionary defintion (1) the science or study of the practical or industrail arts, (2) applied science, (3) a method, process, etc for handling a specific technical problem.According to cook and hussey (2000)this dictionary defination is a important concept , and the term assistive technology refers to a broad range of devices, services, strageties, and practises that are concieved and applied to ameliorate the problems faced by indiviual who have disabilities.

Assistive technology- talking photo books
which is a recordable photo album you place your photo in the album and record a message of who what where in the photo. costs around $ 90-$122 and can come in either A3 A4 size.

The user has an increased functional capacity from using the talking photo books especially for people who are unable to speak or have failing memory.
Another great device is the "italk2" which is a communication devise which indiviuals use to record messages then play back inorder for teachers friends or family to fully understand the needs of the indiviual.
